Expert Systems for any application generator which is exportable in VaGen External Source Format (ESF)

ESF-Files are converted into standard COBOL or PL/I language programs so that all of the functions and structures of the original applications are preserved.

In the conversion process a number of COBOL or PL/I copy files are generated for all system entries, such as, in VaGen terms, records, processes, statement groups, maps, tables, etc. These are then formatted by the Expert Systems into a standard COBOL or PL/I application software according to selected options.

The conversion is a unique operation. Further system development and maintenance is as for any regular COBOL or PL/I On-line using BMS macros or Batch environment system.

For database and file handling all VaGen options are available.

The completed migration is thoroughly pre-tested (using regression testing techniques) prior to delivery. This reduces installation and testing on the client’s production environment to an absolute minimum.

The entire migration process is a single operation in our Z/OS environment, thus assuring a reasonable cost for the Client.
